Hi, I’m Matthew! I’m a British primary school teacher currently teaching Year 5 at a British curriculum school in Abu Dhabi. I have several years of teaching experience across both the UK and UAE, particularly within Key Stage 2. I’m passionate about helping children build confidence, enjoy their learning and make strong academic progress. My teaching style is positive, engaging and supportive, with learning carefully adapted to the needs of each child. In previous schools, I have been particularly recognised for my ability to scaffold learning effectively for lower-attaining pupils, breaking challenging concepts into clear, manageable steps while still encouraging independence and progress. I also have extensive experience supporting children with English as an additional language and particularly enjoy teaching English and Maths. Outside of teaching, I’m a big sports fan and particularly enjoy football and tennis, both of which I’ve coached through school clubs. As a tutor, my aim is to create a relaxed but purposeful environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and becoming confident, independent learners.
